I’m surprised that I have not written this post prior to now. I get asked a lot of questions on the apps I use and today I thought I would share the best apps for instagram stories that I use and some tricks to optimize your IG stories.
- Mojo- This app is great for editing videos to mesh several videos into slide show, adding topography with different colors, and shape effects. It’s pretty amazing. There are some free features in the app but most you have to purchase. This is truly one of the best apps for instagram stories in 2020!
- Hypetype: I’ve been using hype type for yearssss. It’s pretty similar to Mojo, but I think that Mojo has more capabilities. Hype type basically allows you to add topography to your photos and videos and gives you different designs to do it. Just play with the app and you’ll find theres a ton of features to it!
- FaceTune- There’s so much you can do within the app. I don’t utilize this app to the fullest, but if I do use Factune, it’s to smooth out my photos minimally. Not to the point where it looks as if I do not have any pores or my skin looks plastic. I mean, if that’s the look you’re going for it certainly can do that too. Another favorite feature I love is the whiten feature. I like to use it to whiten the walls and stuff like that. Some people use it to whiten their teeth;so if you want whiter, teeth in your photos you could try it. I think the whiteness can be harsh, so I’d be careful using it for that. You don’t want to end up looking like Ross in Friends!! My teeth already looks white in pics but try it out and see!
- ReTouch- Have you ever taken a photo and there was a stranger in the back or a random item you wanted to photoshop, but didn’t know how to photoshop? Retouch removes objects from the background of your photos. No photoshop needed!
- Unfold- Another app thats pretty similar to Mojo and HypeType. Unfold allows you to upload photos and video, add text overlay, add depth of field to the background (Depth of field or Aperture-Fstop) just means it adds a blurring effect to your image. See how I used Unfold here for a blog post title photo.
- VUE- If you watch my instagram stories then you know I use VUE- you can pay to remove the VUE overlay on your videos but I keep them on. Maybe I’ll pay for it. I also love to use Inshot to edit videos for IG.
- Canva- I’ve been using this app for years! I typically use this app to make a infographic, a flyer of sort, upload a photo and add words and symbols/icons to it. It allows you to choose the size of the image you want to create, so it gives you the options to create for IG, IG stories, Youtube page card, Youtube video cover and so much more. I highly recommend. I used Canva to create the title card for my CUBA TRAVEL VLOG.
Some tricks I use within the IG app itself. So lets say you uploaded a photo into IG story. You can add a overlay on the photo by selecting the marker at the top of the page. Its the scraggly line next to the Aa, select the color you want to lay over your photo, press down on the screen for about 5 seconds and the photo will be covered with the color you chose.
Did you know that you can create a boomerang within the app it’s self? Lets say you have a photo you like. As long as it is a “live” photo in your gallery, when you upload it to IG stories, tap the screen and press for about 5-10 seconds and it instantly creates a boomerang for you. Pretty neat, right?
Wanna create a collage in IG stories? Head on over to your gallery open up a photo and copy the photo; you then head back over to IG stories, Upload a photo, adjust the photo how you want, and then tap the screen, hit paste and there you have it. You can paste as many photos as you want.
That’s it! I hope you learn a thing or two on how to elevate your IG game! Also, feel free to let me know some of your best apps for instagram stories! Do me a favor, if you found this helpful, share it with someone who may enjoy it.
