For the past 3 years, I’ve been dedicated to my skin care routine as involved it can be. I’m sure by now you know to have a holy grail moisturizer on hand but what about serums or oils? I’m obsessed with them and these aren’t all of my oils and serums but the ones I’ve been reaching for the past few months.
Think of serums as a primer for your moisturizer. Most serums are oil based but there are some that are not oil based. I think people with oily skin sometimes think oils will make them break out but think of oils as protective ways to lock in moisture. I much prefer oil based serums. I love serums with hylaunronc acids because they plump the skin real good! Hylauraonic what? So HA is something that our body naturally produces; buying products with them help to keep the skin plump and smooth. Who doesn’t want plump skin? Here are a few of my current faves:
This Burt’s Bees oil is amazing! If you’re into clean beauty, consider this one. I love clean beauty products, but I also don’t mind chemicals. This oil is sooooo smooth. When you put it on, the texture is amazing. I use it at night and during the weekends when I want a glow without wearing makeup.
Kheils- I’m on my second bottle of this serum from Kiehls. It’s my holy grail of them all. They aren’t super cheap but it’s worth every single penny. Definitely a repeat purchase for me. I attended a beauty event once and heard that this product sells an insane amount every minute. No shocker there. I’m on my second bottle, and have a 3rd in the stash because you never know.
If you love Argan Oil, you’ll love this Josie Maran one. Argan Oil smells amazing but it’s more than a good smelling oil. Argan Oil has Vitamin E which is anti-inflammatory, so if you suffer from redness, you’ll enjoy it. A drop of this stuff in your moisturizer or foundation and you’re golden.
Aveda- I’ve never been to aveda but I’ve heard so many wonderful things about this composition oil. I received it as gift from an event, and now I understand why people love it so much. I actually use this one on my body and face.
Remember how I mentioned Hyaluronic Acid earlier? Well, this Pestle and Mortar one is my morning favorite right now. I love the consistency. It has a little slip to it, so a little bit goes a long way. I love any serum with Hyaluronic Acid and this one is all Hyaluronic Acid so you can see why I like it.
