I had the BEST meal in Old Havana! We hopped on a cab and explored Old Havana for the day. Went to the museum there, it cost only 3 CUC. I highly recommend! We had lunch at Restaurante Paladar in the town square. There were a bunch of guys with menus telling us about the specials. One the of the guys said his mother was the cook,and if we didn’t enjoy the food, we wouldn’t have to pay. Now, I know his mama wasn’t the cook LOL but the meal was amazinggggg!
I love coconut water so it’s customary for me to have at least two per day when on vacation, I mean, why not?
Later that night we ate dinner at San Cristobal in Havana, also known as “Obama Restaurant” LOL We really wanted to visit San Cristobal as Obama visited, and ate there in 2016.
We didn’t have reservations, so we had to wait for 30 minutes but we didn’t mind. Let’s be honest, I wait for more than 30 minutes at my favorite local sushi spot so I certainly could wait 30 minutes to eat here. I would recommend making a reservation though. The decor and ambience was SO nice, but the food didn’t impress me. When I go back to Cuba, I will not be eating there again, but it was a nice experience and I would recommend it. Old Havana has a colonial feel to it, hence the name Old Havana. Everything seem to slow down and just had an overall lax feel to it. Ahhh, can’t wait to go back to Cuba!
